San Diego

Back to our road trip... we left Las Vegas the next Friday and drove down to San Diego, where we stayed with an old friend of Matthias' for a few days. While there, we walked to a small farmers' market, and then drove up to La Jolla, to a place called the Children's Pool. Originally, a sea wall was created to make a place for children to play (in 1931). However, the seals more or less took over, so the area is closed to swimming but is a great place to see seals.

Here we all are:

Here is Gail with the seals:

The last day we were in San Diego, the Ruggiero cousins came down to San Diego for their vacation, and we had a fun day with them:

We drove all the way back home in one day, and while it made me sad that Gail had a slight fever, it also meant that she slept almost the whole way home, which made for a really calm drive.
