Interrupting the normal schedule of Bethany updating the blog, I (Matthias) am here with the announcement that Rachel Pearl Shapiro was born on March 22nd, 2013 at 1:32PM.
She was 7 pounds 15 ounces and 20 inches long (tall?). She has brown hair and (for the moment) blue eyes.
Lori and Dana are staying with us and were watching over Gail during the birth. They were able to come visit the evening of the delivery.
Gail, who was very excited about seeing Rachel, was a little more iffy on Rachel in person at first.
But by the next day, Gail was feeling comfortable enough to hold Rachel (under close supervision from the parental authorities.
Rachel has made it home safe after two days of observation. We are resting comfortably at home with the new addition to our family. Mommy and baby and both doing great.
